as she realizes she is not alone.
Sexism, racism, gender inequality are, unfortunately, a grim reality for many women across the globe and has yet to be addressed in any substantive way. In addition to pursuing careers, women are tasked with being caregivers without much respect for doing so. Misogyny is being normalized and women aren't being heard in their fight against being victimized. Despite poverty and the global issue of the disparities in educational opportunities afforded to women than men, patriarchal dominance in such areas remains strongly rooted in modern thought processes. Women have a right to be heard and to realize their power.
Little girls around the world need to hear the stories of women so that they know how to overcome life's challenges. "Right now, women and young girls everywhere face an immense range of challenges—from the inability to access food, education, and employment to the threat of gender-based violence. Their perspectives and experiences must help shape our collective future." (Neera Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress)
